What does LipSafe™ mean?
LipSafe™ is YOM's own standard. It means every ingredient in our formulas is cosmetic-grade for skin AND 100% food-grade certified for the accidental journey in. All our formulas are also independently certified microplastic-free by flustix, and we use food-safe packaging to maintain the integrity of the formula. It's the bar we set for ourselves. It doesn't mean we judge other lip products - that's not our style. Would we love the industry to join us? For sure!
What is the difference between cosmetic-grade and food-grade?
Cosmetic-grade ingredients are tested and approved for external use only, meaning they're safe to sit on your skin. Food-grade ingredients are tested and approved for safe human consumption, meaning they're safe to ingest. Here's the thing: no cosmetic-grade ingredient has been tested for ingestion or absorption through your lips at the real exposure levels we're dealing with today. YOM formulas use ingredients with three certifications: cosmetic-grade (required by regulations), food-grade (required by us), and cruelty-free (required by the universe). Because if it's going on your lips, it's inevitably going in your body - so why not formulate with that journey in mind?
Is food-grade the same as clean or organic?
Nope. ‘Clean’ and ‘organic’ apply to cosmetics (AKA topical or for external use only). Food-grade goes further. It’s a legally defined certification you get on top of cosmetic grade, meaning every ingredient is safe for human consumption. We chose food-grade because lips aren’t just surfaces, they’re portals. Every lick, every snack, every conversation, every reapplication sends those formulas into our bodies. If something is going in, even accidentally, it should meet the same standards as what you eat.

Yom makes my lips feel luxuriously moisturised and I love the taste and colour. It is important to me that what I put on my skin and lips is a safe product and this is why I made this purchase which is competitively priced and comes beautifully packaged. I highly recommend and will buy again.
Placed an order back on July 11th, and still have not received it, now being August 8th. I contacted customer support and left a message twice now, never heard back from anyone. My package has been stuck in Memphis for 4 weeks now, with no update from anyone. Not sure why this would take so long to get/ why I can’t seem to reach anyone for help.

Not only do I love this lip mask for the simple ingredients, but it leaves my lips feeling so hydrated!! I’ve become obsessed with applying it. Feels so smooth and luxurious while giving the perfect everyday gloss look. I’ve carried it around with me every where and have had no problems with melting or shifting in container, which was a potential concern for me. I couldn’t recommend this enough!!!🩷

I can’t un-know what I now know about lip products. Which means I’ll never go back to my regular items. And that’s fine - my Yom pot is the only thing I need for smooth, semi glossy lips, one dab goes a long way and lasts a surprisingly long time too. I love it.

I absolutely love the feel of the product itself in my hand, love the packaging and the ergonomic pebble style! The product itself is absolutely lush! So delightful to touch and apply, all three smells are gorgeous and taste wonderful - and the glisten it leaves on the lips is sublime! The delicate tints are wonderful. Persian Love Cake is my absolute favourite, I can't stop using it. Obsessed! And knowing that it's not full of nasties going into my system makes it all that much more enjoyable to use!

Smells and tastes amazing! I bought the Juju one for myself and loved it, and bought Persian one for a friend as a birthday gift. She loved it! As did I as I got to try it haha. It looks like lip gloss when worn but without the horrible stickiness and without ingesting microplastics and synthetic dyes. Subtle brownish tint is gorgeous. Will be purchasing once I’ve finished my Juju one.

The YOM products are perfect but it’s just the customer service and the shipping/packaging and thus delivery that let things down (hence losing one star for each area that needs work). I received my items in a box that was not secured whatsoever. How my items arrived intact is an absolute miracle. I sent feedback plus pics to show this to the team behind the brand and guess what? Not a peep. I am astounded. As a first time customer this is NOT good customer service and makes me wary of reordering even though the product is fantastic. It really places a dampener on the quality and feel of the product. So in sum, beautiful and effective lip balms that are healthy and do what they say on the tin. But all of this is severely undermined by a negligent customer service and shipping process. Whoever packaged them needs to have a masterclass in securing the parcels. Outrageous. Sad. Could do much better

Love everything about them . One thing I would like to see if possible: some sort of a container that can slip into a pocket easily. I'm super outdoorsy and love the ingredients but the round container is bulky in a pocket. It's just fine in my purse but need another version if possible. THANKS! I believe in your mission!

Apparently the shipment does not meet customs standards as it falls under cosmetics and there are stringent regulations around ingredients. I'm writing to let you know so that you can make the necessary changes onto your website. This will prevent future customers worldwide from a similar outcome. The lip balm was a luxurious investment, The amount in MYR given of currency power would be a significant loss. You may enquire with your courier partner to verify the customs legislation in each region/ country. The only reason I went ahead with the purchase, is that when I clicked on the products on site, it represented the sale in MYR (my local currency) and there was no notice at checkout that the parcel cannot be delivered to my region so payment went through. (You may look at Amazon delivery as a great example of this due diligence- they are very specific about which products can be delievered and where and and what (if any) additional tax/ customs duties are applicable.) If this can help your business align in integrity and take better care of your customers worldwide, which I know is your desire given the nature of what you have created, then my intention is fulfilled and it would make me happy. If you could please arrange a refund of my purchase, that would be much appreciated. As I still do intend to buy it, but I'll have to find other ways, like travel or maybe wait to get a friend who is traveling from the US to bring it over. My mother always said put some lipstick on; without it your lips look like a butthole. Then later in life I became a flight attendant and it is red on the lips and red on the tips! SOO I go as natural as I can and now I have found Yom and really I have no fear of using the lip balm and LOVE IT! Thank you for a clean product

Really wanted to love this for the price, but there is barely any colour, so just feels like a very expensive translucent lip balm. (I am brown skinned so really can't see any colour at all.)

I love the real scent of honey and appreciate that I'm putting real stuff on my lips and not chemicals. Lips stay soft while wearing. I would recommend this as an overnight serum over an everyday where. I would prefer a stick formula for that.
The colour does not stay long on my lips. My lips dried up after the colour faded away and lips become chapped.
Incredible smooth texture, stays moist and shiny, absolutely perfect.
Love the subtle color. Has a pleasant berry scent. It is very hydrating and long lasting. Excited to have a clean lip product and not having to worry about chemicals or plastic.
Feels great and a small amount does the job. I get longer lasting hydration with this product. My only wish is the included spatula is smaller and fits in or on the lid. It’s not practical to take the spatula with me or to have loose in my purse.

Great texture, I love a thicker chap or lip stick. This is closest clean resemblance to aquafor.
